Banff & Lake Louise

The much anticipated adventure into the Rockies has come and gone. But it was still fun and exciting to see such a famous place.

Apparently it was some kind of crazy celebrity ski weekend or something. I only saw a stretch limo and a couple of Escalates. No celebs.

Friday we left Calgary and drove to Banff. It was dark and so there are no pictures. We stayed in a cheaper hotel, it was pretty okay actually. A king size bed is something I'm definitely going to need to get in the future. I slept like a baby. Maybe it was just the feather top thingy? Anyways. We walked all around town, super cute bee-tee-dubs. Then had a late dinner at boston pizza and hung out watching cabel tv. Something we don't have. Ah, luxury.

In the morning we got up and drove around down a little more. And saw the Banff Springs Inn, which is actually a real castle. So, I've been to a castle. No big deal.

This is the view behind the castle

Driving through Banff

And then back on the road to Lake Louise
The cross country skiers are actually standing on the lake, and so am I but you can't tell.

 What is my hair doing?

After standing on the lake, we looked at all the ice sculptures that were starting to melt. They were pretty impressive, but I wont bore you with pictures of them.

And then the sun moved behind the mountain and it got all shadowy.

And then we hiked around the snow shoeing trails.. and warren gave some tree hair and told me to make a mustache.

And then we had some time to kill, so we drove to British Columbia. Yuck. I don't like BC in case you didn't already know. But we did see helicopters dropping dynamite on the mountain sides to reduce massive avalanches. That was cool. There were so many warnings and signs of animals, but I didn't see any. I was a little disappointed. Oddly enough. We ate lunch/early dinner in Golden, BC. I don't think I'll be visiting Golden again. The town is terrible. But the lunch we had was delish! Then Warren made ME drive all the way back to Calgary. I shouldn't be so selfish, but I was super scared to drive those windy snowy roads with potential animal crossings. But I survived.

As we were coming to Calgary, Warren spotted some elk on the side the road. He tried to take a picture but it focused on the dirty window instead of the elk. Ha.
So that was our little trip. We had a lot of fun. And now we are back at home, with no food because we haven't gone grocery shopping in almost 3 weeks. I think I'm going to go make some cookies or cake or something because I'm hungry.

Thyroid?

Has anyone had issues with their thyroid? Can you give me the low down on some of the symptoms that there may be a problem? I don't want the googled crap. Been there, done that- and I'm not finding it to be very informative. I want some serious personal things that will help better determine if I have a problem, or if I'm just a nut case!

For the record, I am due for blood work since all my health records remain the US. I am procrastinating, mostly because I don't really want to go to in for blood work and find out that I am all sorts of a mess and be put on every medication known to man. At 24, with no kids and no other health problems, I think I'd rather just shoot myself than be put on a thousand different medications for dumb things. Also, needles make me pass out. So I really would appreciate some major input.

If you are unsure about sharing anything too personal, I do have to approve the comments on here before they are posted, let me know if you'd rather not have them read by others.
