Dear Diary,
This week has been a really rough week. I sort of feel like driving off a cliff. But that would make the car insurance rate sky rocket so I'll bypass that idea.
My socket is healing quite nicely, thanks for asking. I chewed gum the other night, sort of 'riskay'. I have a ton of dishes to do today, and I'm feeling way too bitter towards the sink to start on them. Unfortunately, it's my job and I'm sure in a couple of hours I will crack and end up doing them anyways. It's a love/hate relationship we have.
Last night I got to go shopping with a girl, a real life girl. It was only so that the boys could play some dumb computer game that I loathe entirely, but nonetheless it was pretty fun. My limit was $50. I have been wanting and needing new nylons and tights for quite sometime, but I didn't want plain Jane ones, I wanted fun ones with patterns. The first store I went into I saw the cutest shirt in the whole wide world. It was $39.99... Not bad considering it was a new spring item. But I put it back down and kept looking. Unfortunately it called to me the whole time. So we had to go back so I could get it... and right as I walked to the cash register I saw the nylons and tights--- 25% off already marked down items. KACHING$$! So I got DARK PURPLE nylons! I'm so excited for them. And, I didn't go over my limit... nope. It came to $49.31. I love shopping.
My friend Tressa had her baby yesterday. A little boy. I knew she was having a boy. I could tell. They named him Clayton. Clayton is the name of her husband's brother who passed away a few years ago. Hurray for having a baby, Tressa!
Yesterday I also ruined Warren's computer. I feel pretty horrible about it. It was an honest mistake, but he sure wont let it go. He was pretty angry with me. I'm going to stick a sticky note on his external hard drive saying "do not place near anything electronic or else it will erase everything and ruin it". Ugh, I feel like such a great wife now.
On Wednesday my wonderful landlord (he really is wonderful, I really enjoy renting from him) calls me up and tells me that a home inspector has to come and check out a bunch of stuff including the basement, which is where we live. I told him it was fine, I was home and it was fairly clean in some areas, minus the sink full of dishes. So the inspector came and took pictures and measurements and all sorts of weird things. I thought it was a bit odd to be taking pictures...? After he left my landlord came down to talk to me. He told me that Carol and Don (the French Canadian's that used to live upstairs) scratched up the brand new hardwood flooring that he had put in before they moved in. So he told them that he was going to hold their damage deposit to fix the scratches. I guess they started harassing Jason (landlord) for their money back and became really unreasonable to deal with. They ended up complaining to the city, which is why the home inspector had to come to assess the damage. Turns out Jason has to take out everything in the basement that is waist high or below. That includes the sink, the stove, all the counter tops, the toilet and the bathroom sink. Yep, we have to move. Jason offered us the upstairs, but since the upstairs rent is $400 more than what we are paying for the basement- we aren't sure how long Jason can keep us without needing to get the extra $400 a month. We have looked for places to move into, we have plenty of friends who rent and can help us find a place. But the the money we have saved up for so long is for my residency papers and the fee's, and now we have to use that money towards a second damage deposit at a new apartment. We can't really afford to move either, we were doing so good- we made enough each month with the single income to live within our means. The longer I have to wait to submit my residency papers, the longer it will be before I can work and contribute money into the pot. It's a lose/lose situation. Oh Diary, I don't know what to do. What could I have possibly done in a previous life to deserve all this? I don't know of any other young married couples that has been dealt the same crappy hand of cards that Warren and I have been dealt. Which really sucks since we both are so competitive at board games.
Many Handshakes,
Kelsey

This post has no story or plot line. Enjoy.
First off, I cracked down and got the shoes. Oh look they match my carpet.
Me modeling them. I call this one, Red Dot.
Next, while vacuuming...
Does this only happen to me? That sock was stuck in there so bad I couldn't get it out.
Pina Colada night with Chris and Sara... and their cat.
She turned at just the right time.
We had nachos, too! So good!
Next, this is the story of my teeth. When I was baby I had a really high fever for about a week, I had to be put in the hospital, all wrapped up in ice blankets. From the severity of the fever, and the precise time during my infancy, the fever literally burned the enamel from my teeth that were developing underneath. This isn't self diagnosed, it was confirmed by a doctor and a dentist. So my adult teeth have had some troubles. We will go through it with pictures...
First, this is a picture of me when I was little... I'm adorable I know. That's after I lost my first tooth... the one that I swallowed. Fortunately my baby teeth all turned out okay, and since I wasn't allowed to eat a lot of candy the cavities weren't too bad and baby teeth end up falling out anyways.
This is after my adult teeth came in. Check out that gap. My front two teeth were pitted from where the fever warped them and stripped them of the enamel. By 6th grade (I think this picture was taken during 2nd or 3rd) pieces of my front teeth fell apart. Kinda gross. So I never smiled, which is why you don't see many pictures of me during those painful years.
Once I got old enough and had all my teeth in place, I got to go see Dr. Guymon, who was an orthodontist. I knew I needed braces, because of the gap, but he needed to look at my teeth first and determine what things I needed to get fixed by the dentist, first. So my front teeth got filled, and I had a couple other cavities as well that got filled... and on came the braces!
I tried drawing on this picture, that's where the lines came from. YUCK huh? I was not a cute kid. This is 9th grade. My braces are blue.
This is about 6 months after the previous picture. What a difference. Still 9th grade. Normally the story would end here, since my teeth look normal. Ah, but you aren't Kelsey. After my braces came off, the expensive part began. My front two teeth needed to be capped. So they shaved my actual teeth down till they were itty bitty, and then place veneer's over top. You can't even tell, I've even had dentists that can't tell they are fake.
This is senior year, but my veneer's went on the summer before sophomore year- but all those pictures are hard to see my teeth in.

Pretty, aren't they?
Well, after that, two of my fillings on two different molars started to fall out. Great. But before I could get the fillings replaced, my wisdom teeth decided to cause havoc so I had to get them out. STAT!
This is me in the store getting my prescription filled, look how fat my cheeks are.
After that, and before I got married all during one summer, I got a two part root canal on one of the molars that lost a filling. The dentist kind of freaked out, and so I didn't go back to get the crown, plus I was out of money. So the other tooth went without up until LAST FRIDAY. I'm so thankful to be in such a wonderful family of dentists who were able to get in me quick and free. Yay for free health care! But more YAY for uncles who would do it for free anyways! Last Friday, the molar that went without a root canal had to be pulled because it had just gotten so rotten. It sounds really gross, but it was expected. So here it is. All in pieces.
Gross isn't it? That's how I felt.
I am recovering really well... only a little bit of pain here and there. But I feel very self conscience of myself because I've always had problems with my teeth, and it's not exactly my fault. I'm sure I contribute, but I'm surely not to blame entirely. I feel like a homeless person, ya know, one that is missing all their teeth with gaps... because now I have gap again. Good thing it's so far back you can't see it.
Anyways, that's what's new in my life. Warren bought a turn table, but it hasn't arrived yet. I am still not keen on the idea since he already has one and has no place to put this new one. Our house is becoming a bachelor pad. And our car is really dirty. The end. Thanks for reading- happy commenting. Sorry it's so long.

Olympic Torch comes to Calgary
And you can bet I was there, front and center! Actually, I didn't get to be front and center because there are 1 million people in this city... and I think most of them came for this big event... so sorry the pictures are blurry... you do what you can do with a zoom on your cameras! But it's still way cool to be a part of!
Oh, thank goodness we got Tim Horton's in the background... Canadian classic.
Now is a good time to tell you all, Warren did not want to go downtown to Olympic Park to watch the big ceremony. So I tried calling my new and very good friend Sarah Bell to see if she wanted to go with me.. but she was busy... I told Warren I was going alone. And then he said he would go, because I couldn't go by myself, I would get lost or stolen... or raped. Or all three.
Me getting ready to get on the train... yeah we take trains.
This is me on the train.
Calgary Tower with a torch lit on top
Far away version
Random torch bearer
This made the whole night one thousand times better... he was nice, too! And cute!
Kinda hard to see... but it's the torch running through the crowd
This one is better
Blurry, but it's on stage
Kinda better...
Well, it was a fun day. It was way neat to be involved in something that the whole world is involved in. Thanks for reading. Happy commenting!

NEW IDEA!
So, BTW I'm not making my blog private. False alarm. Thanks to those who wanted an invite, it made me feel good inside. All warm and fuzzy.
But I've decided to do the exact opposite of making it private... I'm trying to make it UBER PUBLIC! If you haven't noticed yet, I added this neat feature that puts on a dot on the world each time someone views my blog. Your job is, two things... to one, TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS just to view my blog... they don't have to follow or read or comment or anything, just click on the link to my blog so a new dot appears on the map. And two, view my friend Shelayna's blog. She is helping me reach my goal of getting new dots, so it's only fair. Plus her blog is really cute and you can get some neat ideas from her. She is a blogging expert! Her link: http://shelblogs.blogspot.com/.
Thanks, and get telling everyone about our blogs! Ready, GO!

Bittersweet
Today, while shopping, (my number one hobby and the only thing that can make me feel better in life...) I did something that was not easy.
I have been searching and searching and SEARCHING for these shoes. I knew they would be easy to find, if I wanted to pay a lot of money for them. But I didn't really see them being anything more than $25, $30 at the most, since they look like slippers, and if I wanted them that badly, I would just buy the slippers instead. I have a similar pair I got from Old Navy, that are brown, for $11... and I LOOOVE them! But I'm in desperate need of winter shoes, and I hate boots... and I refuse to wear them and conform to everyone else in Canada. (Think what you will, but that's just how I feel about boots.) So I finally found these shoes at Payless. Online, when I first saw them, the price was $16.99. Sweet deal! But, to my dismay, none of the stores in Calgary carried them in the tan color... just the gray. They were that popular; they couldn't keep them on the shelves. So I waited until I got to the States to buy them. But once I got to Payless in the States, both Montana and Boise, it was the same story. They were sold out. ERGG! I just want the shoes!
Well today, in a mall just north of Calgary, not even in the city anymore... I found them. The only tan pair in the store, and it was just my size. Normally I wear a 7, but in these ones I needed a 7.5... and there they were. No one had even touched them yet... they still had the wrapping on them, and the stick thing in them. I put them on and pranced around the store like a magical pixy horse. The word 'shoes' doesn't do them justice... no, instead they were like fluffy clouds of gold and ribbon on my feet. I was so excited because I have been waiting for them to get more in stock for months and months and weeks and weeks... and now I had them in my hands... they looked so cute on my little feet with my jeans, and my... face... an', an'... hair. Warren told me I had to get them since it was obviously a sign from the gods that I was supposed to have them. The entire store was marked down, with little red sales tags all over the place and clearance signs like you wont believe. But on my beloved canvas beauties, lay no little red tag. No, instead the price was marked at $37.99. Now, I'm not one to talk because my closet is full of shoes that I paid far more than $37 for, but I'd like to say that I've grown up and realized the value of a dollar, and the difference between 'cost' and 'worth'. I want them really bad! But I'm just not willing pay that much for them, especially at PAYLESS! So, I put the fluffy clouds of gold and ribbon back on the shelf, and walked out. I know I'm going to regret not getting them in a few weeks when I go shopping again and see that they still don't have them in stock, or have marked the price up even more. I can't tell you that I feel good about leaving empty handed, but I also don't feel bad either. I'm in that gray area. So I will keep wearing my pink and white Puma's I got at the DI last year, as my shoes of choice during the winter, until I find my fluffy clouds of gold and ribbon at a price that wont make my dead dog roll over in his, ...urn.

"Oh it's hard to live, it's hard to live in the city"
This last one is just for fun. Could you imagine getting mauled by one of those babies?!
Statistics show that more people die in a year from moose than bears and wolves combined. Yikes!

Hot Dog Sleep-over
Warren's mom gave me the recipe for her famous pizza dough- so I thought I would give it a shot. But we forgot to get pepperoni, and pizza just isn't pizza without it. So I thought I would improvise.
For Christmas I received a very special cook book from my favorite cousin, Adrian. In it was this cute little recipe for a variation of Pigs In A Blanket. So the light bulb went off, and that's what I made for dinner tonight. Here are some pictures!

The pizza dough... but I can't show you the ingredients because it's secret!
Aren't they cute... they're mummies!
YUM!
I'm just an ameteur cook, but if I do say so myself, these are cute, and YUMMY!
"I wish you'd get out of my life and shut up!"
Tonight we (Warren and I) went grocery shopping. While grocery shopping, we started quoting quotes from Napoleon Dynamite. Once we got home, there was nothing to do but watch that movie. We just had to. No question, right? So it got me thinking... "Warren, have you ever noticed how much you resemble Napoleon Dynamite?" 'Dun, dudada da da dun!' NEW BLOG ENTRY!
BAHAHA!

Turd Burglar
So my brother in law, Graham, told us some stories about a couple of old girlfriends this last weekend, and they are so funny I can't NOT tell everyone!
Story number one.
Graham dated this girl, who was kind of crazy. Right before he was leaving on his mission to Montreal, his girlfriend at the time, calls him up and says she needs to talk to him right away. It was urgent. And important. So he goes over to her house. And she tells him that 'she's late'. "Late for what?" ..'No, I'm late.' Graham is a little confused because obviously they hadn't had sex or anything, so he starts asking her questions... trying to figure out what she's getting at. She tells him that she believes she was miraculously impregnated. He tries to tell her that that's impossible... but then she goes on to tell him that she thinks it has something to do with a dream she had the night before, about how some guy (I'm a little fuzzy on the details... okay?!) told her she was to become pregnant. Which is why her period was late.
I'm glad they ended up breaking up so they didn't become the next Mary and Joseph.
Story number Dos.
This one is the kicker. I still can't stop laughing. The semester before last, Graham was dating this girl, kind of casually. The semester ended and it was summer, and thus began the long distance relationship. After a couple of weeks, Graham started debating whether or not to break up since it wasn't really working out and he wasn't very interested anymore. One day, he finally decides he's going to break up with her, so he calls her up that night. She answers and she starts out with telling him that the most embarrassing thing happened to her earlier that day. So he insists on hearing about it... of course, ha who wouldn't?! So she tells him about how she was at some public place (told you, I'm fuzzy on the details) and she had to go the bathroom, number two. So she's in the bathroom, using the handicapped stall, and after a few minutes she looks up and there's this random lady standing there staring at her. Then she realizes that the stall door hadn't locked and had opened up. So she gets up to shut the door and her poo falls right then and lands on the floor! HAHA! Don't forget, he was calling to break up with her! Poor girl! Graham where do you find these girls?!
