The manditory yet cliche Christmas post

Well it's Christmas. Well, almost.
I'm at a loss of words really. I normally love Christmas, however this year is a completely different story, as you all know. I just want to bypass the next few days. I know I'm a horrible person and should just stay locked up in a cave somewhere so not to spread my angst on everyone. If I had it my way, I would. I haven't really felt much of the Christmas spirit this year. I wasn't as eager to give gifts. I normally go a little overboard and buy and bake a ton of stuff, but not this year. One person from worked asked what I was going to get my mother... I just got up and left. He caught me on what was already a bad day, and sometimes I'm not as poised as others. Getting up and walking away was the best solution I could think of.

However, I have a lot to be grateful for. Mostly for people's empathy and sympathy. Some good things did happen this year. Promotions, my work permit and permenant residency, my awesome job at RE/MAX that I absolutely love. Pay raises, and of course the addition to the family (Leo). We have started looking for houses... dual incomes sure make your bank account happy. Warren will be finishing school this year, too. It finally seems like we are starting to catch up with the Jones'.

We are really grateful to be living where we are. Had we stayed in Logan, things wouldn't be as great as they are now. We love our place, and enjoy being close to family. I am particularily grateful for my family and friends. It's so vague, but I can't tell you how comforting it is to know that people out there actually care about me. People have been absolutely wonderful to me this year - minus a select few, haha! My co-workers are all fantastic. They treat me so well, I wish I could tell you the amount of $$ I got just from Christmas! I love Real Estate! Seriously, this is the most perfect place for me- I am obsessed with houses!

Thank you everyone for all your kindness and friendship. Please know it's been greatly appreciated and has made a huge impact on my life. Have a Merry Christmas everyone! And don't forget to watch the Hanakkuh song by Adam Sandler on youtube...!

I'm a freaking roller coaster

Tonight I am taking some time to ramble on my blog. Not do the dishes, not do the laundry, not clean my house. Nope. Just blog.
Things are going well, I suppose. Warren got a new video game, which makes me want jump off a cliff- but nights like tonight are okay. Except for the fact that I have been exiled to the bedroom! I hate video games.

Work is going well. I'm exhausted all the time. I go to bed at 9pm, wake up at 5:20am, and I'm still tired all the time. Whoever said that 40 hours a week is the norm... obviously didn't have a life. I have ZERO time for anything anymore. Weekends are used primarily to catching up on sleep and watching my TV shows. Today was kind of a rough day. Everyone must have been taking witchy pills- if I had a dollar for all the times someone snapped at me, I'd have... maybe $50. Going from not working at all, to working full time with no time off- it's hard. I asked for a day off in a couple weeks just to have the day off. I didn't get time off for Christmas- which kind of puts a damper in our plans. More on that later.

Everything else in life is moving along like normal. Leo is now 6 months old, and losing his teeth. His newest thing is waking up at 4:30am, pawing at my face to let me know he's hungry. I can't be mad at him cuz as soon as I open my eyes he gives the cutest little 'meow'. Reminds me of a baby. We taught him how to play fetch... it's the coolest thing. I love him. I come home from work and he's so excited to see me. I pick him up and cuddle him for, well- for as long as I can before he demands I put him down. I read this article a few weeks ago about how pet owners tend to be less stressed, and actually end up living longer. They did some tests on people, and after 30 minutes of being around a pet (cat, dog, or fish) decreases stress levels by 80%. Which then leads to people being happier, and living happier lives, and living longer. Interesting, huh?

Lots has been happening as far my family drama goes. Let me just take a minute to fill you in. My dad hit rock bottom after my mom passed away. His drinking and anxiety just didn't mix well together. He had lost about 70 lbs and for an already thin guy, he was at a dangerous weight. I called my grandma one night, and she had informed me that my step mom had beat him up, and because of his fragile state the police were called- she was in jail, while my dad was badly bruised and in poor shape. My uncles had tried to intervene to get him some help with his alcoholism but he refused. They finally got him to the hospital, and once the doctors finally got him to calm down he started up again and ripped out all the IV's. This went on for a few weeks, before he collapsed one day, and decided to check himself into a rehab center. They treated him for his alcoholism, malnutrition... and prostate cancer. Cancer, again. I don't know how much more of this I can take. Luckily, and I mean luckily, the test came back negative. Could you imagine? I would be dead by now.

So far, I think he's doing well. Since I don't have long distance calling anymore, I don't get the opportunity to talk to anyone very often.

My mother in law had made plans for all of her kids to come this year for Christmas. It was something we had been planning for over a year now. But once my mom's cancer became terminal in January, the chance of Kelsey and Warren being there this year was put on hold. As it's nearing closer and closer to the holidays... my ability to handle my emotions is getting exponentially harder each day. I cry at least once a day, sometimes more. Thanksgiving and Christmas were my moms favorite holidays, and she always went above and beyond for our family. She always had plans, and made the holidays really special. It holds a very special place in my heart, and this- being the first holiday season since her death which wasn't that long ago... Long story short, I really don't want to go anywhere for Christmas. I want to stay in my own home. Do my own thing. I want to sit in my room and cry nonstop as often as I have to without anyone looking at me weird. Am I crazy? Is it wrong that I don't want to be around someone else's happy family who have no idea what I'm going through?

Earlier this summer, my mother in law sold her house, and due to some bad home evaluations they haven't bought a new one yet. So they decided to do Christmas in Salt Lake, instead of Denver. Salt lake is pretty close to Boise. If my family were to find out that I went to Salt Lake during Christmas, but didn't go a few more hours to Boise- they would be devastated.

So, that's where I'm at right now. I'm a freaking rollercoaster. Warren and I are constantly arguing about the holidays. I sort of feel like he's choosing his mom over me. I get that he doesn't want to let her down, but I guarantee you that if our positions were reversed, we'd be doing whatever he wanted, no matter what.

I didn't get the days off that I needed for our travels. We would be there for 3 whole days. It doesn't seem worth it to me. Especially since all the time off I did get, will be jam packed with either driving or doing family stuff constantly, not getting anytime to myself to enjoy not being at work.

BLAHHH! Thanks for listening to me vent all over the place... if you have any words of encouragement, advise or anything of the like... feel free to comment on my poor pathetic life. :)

KRISTI IS MARRIED!

My best friend is now married! It's so exciting! I am so happy for her, and most importantly- her husband is one heck of a lucky guy. I'm so grateful I got go down and be in the temple with her and her family, and spend the whole day dedicated to her. It was such a nice wedding, and everything was perfect. Minus the rain which we could have done without- but it wouldn't be a wedding day without something going haywire.
I was also super happy to see my other best friend Lorissa. I haven't seen her since before I moved away, and she left on a mission. We picked up right where we left off, like nothing new has happened in our lives. It was a sweet reunion.
I helped myself to snagging a few pictures of the event, like any good friend would do. So here ya go!
I really like her umbrella. If I were a thief, I'd steal it from her.
And of course, I couldn't resist taking a million pictures of my most favorite-est temple of all time... I wont bore you with all of them.
And another million or so pictures of Lorissa and I... I wont bore you with all those, either.
At the yummy luncheon. Why's it called a luncheon, btw? Why isn't it just called lunch?
 The beautiful cake
The decorations behind the cake, which totally blew my mind...
If only you could hear how hard she was giggling... they were doing the garter belt thingy...
Smearing each other in cake...

It was a fantastic day. I am so happy for them. Kristi has had some rotten luck with the male gender, and I hate that it took so long for her to find her Prince Charming, but I'm so glad she did. He is a sweetheart. I know they will have a great marriage.
And on that note...
CONGRATS KRISTI! WE'RE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Roses coming out my butt

If you're wondering where I've been.... and why I haven't updated much, it's because I've been dead.

Literally.

My life is so hard sometimes, just sayin'. Pitty party much? I keep thinking, 'when am I going to catch a break? When are things finally going to come up Milhouse for ol' Kelsey? When is it going to be my turn to blow up people's Facebooks with all my awesome adventures and better-than-everyone-elses' status updates?" I guess I could just remove myself from the social network atmosphere, but how else am I going to keep in touch with my family and friends? I know what you're thinking. "Gasp! Kelsey! Being jealous over something so trivial?! It's preposterous!".

I read this article in Cosmopolitan [I read it for the non sex articles, I swear!] and it completely changed my life. Facebook has been really getting me down for the last year or so. So much, that I've actually deleted people because I just hated them so much, and I was sick of hearing about and seeing how awesome their lives were. I know I don't exactly sound very noble, but I just couldn't handle it anymore. So when I read this article on my lunch break last Friday, I knew that someone out there, probably in heaven, probably my mom, or God, or something... was telling me that I'm not crazy for hating on everyone, and more importantly, that I wasn't alone in feeling this way. If I could just quote the parts that really hit me... ahem...
Raise your hand if this scenario sounds familiar: after a [crappy] day at work or spat with your guy, you log on to Facebook and scroll through your friends' carefully curated photo albums and peppy status updates-"Adele concert was sick... So blessed to have the most amazing boyfriend/fiance/husband in the world... Just got a puppy!!!"
If your first thought is I'm so psyched for them, well, we want a piece of that selfless pie you're eating. For the rest, there's a good chance that you're comparing their "awesome" lives to your own, and especially when you're in a low moment, yours comes up short.
"It's human nature to assume others are happier than you are," says Jenn Berman, PhD. "Facebook exacerbates this tendency because so many people use it to self promote." Berman likens someone's profiles to a greatest hits album: "You never see their desperate moments, so you assume they don't have any, and you feel isolated and wonder why your life can't be as easy and wonderful as theirs is."
..."Seeing your peers excel in an aspect of life where you may be a step behind can make you feel like you don't measure up," says Berman.

[Insert sigh of relief here]. I'm telling ya, this article was life altering. It truly resonated with me and made me feel not only better about my life, but better about myself because I'm not alone in thinking that my life isn't as perfect as someone elses.
Since this article came into my life four whole days ago, the drama within my family, grieving the loss of my mom, the art of skillfully learning my new job and knocking it out of the park, my relationship with my husband, and the usual events of my life that would normally bug the crap out of me- haven't necessarily dissipated, but have created a sense of symbiosis with my overall happiness. My life might be a thousand times harder than so-and-so's but I'm going to be a better, stronger, and more admirable person as a result.

... So suck on that!

Anyways, moral of the story is that Kelsey is doing better! Oh, and I just want to leave you with a picture of my kitten, who has wormed his adorable little way into my heart.

Please and thank you

What do you do when you have a friend, who really isn't worth having as a friend- but you can't not be friends with her because she's family?

Do I fake it?

Do I be honest and tell her I don't want to be friends? Wont that make family get-togethers a bit awkard?

Or do I just ignore her and make her feel stupid?

Tell me please, what to do in this scenario.

Not a good day, kids.

My day began last night... our 3rd anniversary, btw.

I was pretty tired when I got home from my first day of my big girl job and so I laid on the floor for the better part of the evening. Finally at 8pm, we decided we needed food, and so off to Arby's we went. I love Arby's... but not this time. It was so GROSS! It gave me a touch of food poisoning, and so my stomach felt terrible starting around 10pm. I was pretty nauseated, but kept everything under control. Sleeping was hard because my stomach hurt so bad, but I finally fell asleep around midnight, which is pretty good for me. My alarm was set for 5:30am so I could get up with plenty of time to catch the bus and figure out just how long it actually took me to get there since I'm still new to the whole city transit thing.

I woke up in the middle of the night thanks to my tummy, however feeling pretty refreshed, I looked at my Nintendo DS to check the time and see how much longer I had until my alarm went off. I saw that I had 1:21 left until it went off... so I just turned it off and got up and jumped in the shower, my stomach still aching away. Warren had awoken and set himself a second alarm. After I was dressed, I went out and turned the TV on to watch the weather channel... I suddenly noticed it was not the time I thought it was. No, no friends, it was 4:30AM!!!!! The 1:21 I saw... must have been 1 hour and 21 minutes, instead of 1 minute and 21 seconds. Putting my wake up time a little before 4am. Sweet.

I felt pretty stupid and very ashamed, so I put my pj's back on, blow dried my hair and went back to bed until Warren got up. But, I couldn't sleep so I just laid there, starring at the ceiling. I finished getting ready for work and made myself a bagel, then realized it was time to leave, so I got two bites down.

As I was waiting for the bus, my good friends husband walked up and waited with me, silently and very awkwardly- this being the husband who just told my good friend about how he cheated on her and who had just returned from London (his hometown) over the weekend after being kicked out. Fantastic.

I got to the train station, and got on the train... then got off at my stop. I missed the #11 bus and I was running short on time, so I knew that the #15 took me down the same road, and it was still there at the port. So I ran over and jumped on. It occurred to me after about 5 minutes that it was NOT going the direction I needed... in fact, it was going west and I was needing to go east... The one and only bus route that makes a figure 8 and stops at 3 train depots. It dropped me off at the train station south of the one I had gotten off at. So I ran and jumped on the northbound train again, got off again at the first stop, and waited 10 minutes for the #11 to show up. The time was now 7:55, and I needed to be at work at 8. The bus sat at the port for 10 minutes... longest 10 minutes of my life- I was definitely late, and unfortunately, didn't have a phone to call to let my boss know I'd be late thanks to the buses. AWESOME (not!).

I got off, and ran (yes, RAN!) across streets and private parking lots and luckily everything was okay and my boss understood. This all happening before 8am.

The rest of the day went well. But Warren decided not to pick me up since he was now feeling the affects of Arby's, so I had to take the dreaded transit home. I'm off at 5pm, and I walked into my house at 6:05pm. BLECH to you public transit! We're not friends. Good news is I get to do it all over again tomorrow. And the next day, and the next day.
Love, Kelsey

I gots myself a job!

I love my job a lot- however, after I came back from the States, things were so slow that I wasn't really needed until the fall. Music to my ears. If you know me at all, you know I love to stay up late and sleep in the next day. So having to wake up early to drag myself to work is not something I look forward to, so I was really happy to have some time off and enjoy whats left of my summer. However, not having a job made things a little boring the during the day. It also meant that I didn't have as much spending money. I had applied for a couple jobs here and there, with the hopes that things would pick up in the HVAC business so I wouldn't have to quit just yet.
My first interview, I ended up being 5 minutes late to. My mom was totally looking out for me though, and made all the intersections turn green for me. Thanks mom! I ended up getting the first job I interviewed for. It was an insurance company, doing basic admin assisting (aka getting people coffee, and being everyone's peon). The next day I got a phone call from the other place I had applied for, I went in and the owner ended up interviewing me, and by the end, told me he was very impressed and had a few more interviews to do "just to be fair." I knew I had landed it, and I was totally psyched! This job is a receptionist position at a major real estate office that handles 80% of Calgary's real estate (because our area, the SE, is the fastest growing).
Today I decided, with the help of a pro/con list (don't mock my pro/con list) and my good friend Tressa, that I would take the real estate position. SO I DID! It's my first full time job. I'm only 23 and just now getting my first real big person job. Actually, I take that back. I worked my bum off in college- though my position at the hotel was not considered full time, I took shifts at the drop of a hat and went to school full time. I'm counting that as full time work!
So tomorrow will be my last day to sleep in, as I start on Monday 8-5. I'm so excited you guys, you don't even know. I know my mom had something to do with it... I don't know what exactly, but I know she did. If you know me at all, you know that this is probably the best industry for me to get into. I play The Sims (yeah, I just admitted it all over the internet) just so I can build houses. One of my favorite things to do here is go look at show homes. Warren had to point out to me that I love houses, he also reminded me of the time span in my life where I wanted to be an architect so I could build homes. Even though I will only be doing reception work, I will have opportunities to move up and be working for one of the most well known real estate companies in the US and Canada. I'M PRETTY DANG EXCITED! Just thought I'd share it with everyone!

Doctor Leo Marvin

Meet the newest member of our family! His name is Leo! We got him on Friday from the Humane Society. He's super cute, super playful and really cuddly. He's really good at using his litter box, and makes blogging really difficult because he loves the computer. He totally fits our family...
He likes to sleep on the playstation.

I'm not really a cat person, but I've been wanting a kitten for a while... and Warren loves cats, so it wasn't really a hard decision. We love him!

Glacier National Park and Whit's Wedding

On our way back up to Calgary, we drove the scenic route, and went through Glacier National Park. Seriously awesome. That place is probably one the most majestic and beautiful places I've been. I'm really excited to show you some pictures I snapped!

Last week, Warren's step sister Whitney got married! We drove the whole 18 hour drive in one day... Denver is one of my favorite places also. I think I will live there one day. I think. I was really excited because it was so hot! 100's the whole time... I miss the heat!
Whitney looked beautiful and Alex, so dashing! It was a perfect day for a wedding- congrats again you two!
We had a lot of fun in Denver, thanks Cheryl and Mike for letting us come and eat your food!
One of our fun things we did (besides lots of shopping)-- we made a balloon and house with the left over helium and balloons. It floated south... still no word if anyone found it yet. We left a note inside with Cheryl's email address, saying to email us if anyone found it. It was super fun! We also played with old BB guns, had push up contests and laid in the hammock... a lot.

Denver = success!

Mammoth Update

This may sound crazy (okay, I know it sounds crazy) but blogging means a lot to me, and I hate being so out of the loop. I feel so behind, it feels like I'll never get completely caught up- and not just with my own life, but reading [and commenting on] everyone else's blogs. So please everyone, bear with me.

This summer has been so busy, I cannot even fathom that it's August 4th already. The last day I remember, was June 18th.

First things first, as I mentioned before- my mom passed away on July 10th. I'll post more on that later. Be sure to bring a box of Kleenex.

My brother in law, Graham, got himself hitched. Unfortunately, I missed their wedding in Victoria. I was upset I missed it, my plane ticket was already paid for, and I hadn't seen Warren in three weeks. However, considering they were married on July 8th, and my mom was no longer conscience by that day, I'm happy I didn't leave. Here is a picture of Graham and Hayley on their wedding day!

We drove the scenic way back to Calgary... and stopped at the family reunion in Montana to break up the drive. The lake was so high [9 feet higher than normal] there was a 'no wake' rule put in. So no boating this year. It was fun to see so many people in Warren's family. I'm happy we got to stop by!
 [this is in McCall, Idaho]
 [Tom Cars!]
[this is the road to the lake... barf]
 [cabin on the lake]
[some cabins were under water... so sad]
After our one day stop at the reunion, we drove through Glacier National Park. This is by the far, the coolest thing I've done in years. I was glued to the windows pointing out thousands of waterfalls and even a bear. And some goats. Glacier will get it's own post though... sorry!

After Glacier, we finally came back to Calgary. We were house sitting however, for Warren's dad who was still at the reunion, so we never actually made it to our house. We were there the whole week. On the 21st, I had an interview with Immigration Canada. I was kind of nervous, but everything turned out just fine and I was granted my permanent residency! It only took.... 18 months and $1,500 but I've got it now! In a couple of years, I will be able to apply for duel citizenship. I haven't made up my mind about that yet, but I've got a while to figure it out.
We also attended an engagement party on the 26th for our good friends Stefan and Amanda who are getting married August 20th. It was a lot of fun to see friends and forget about everything that was going on in my life. Of course, everyone came up to me to offer their condolences... so much for forgetting about it. But it was still fun. Also, can I just state that for the record, my president in YW's was there and said nothing to me, she did however, shoot me a dirty look. She's so awesome you guys. I can't over hype her enough.
The very next day at 6am, we packed up our car and picked up Graham and Hayley and drove the whole 18 hours to Denver for Warren's step sister's wedding. I told you it has been a busy summer. I'll probably give Denver it's own post, too.

So now, I am home as of 1:30am on Tuesday. I am getting my house put back together. By the way, I am never leaving Warren home alone for longer than a day ever again. He told me he had been 'nesting' since I was gone for 4 weeks. Everyone just take a deep breath and sympathize for me... so I'm putting my house back together and cleaning out the fridge, scrubbing the toilet and doing a thousand dishes. On top of that, and on top of grieving the loss of my mother I am now combating the fact that I have been basically laid off from my job that I worked so hard and took me three months to finally get. So I am back on the job search. I really have no idea how I'm still here, but I am.

Alrighty, so you have three more posts to watch for and comment on... because you love me, right? kthanksbye!

Yup.

As most of you know by now, my mother passed away yesterday afternoon. It was peaceful and all three of us girls were by her side. For anyone who is interested, the memorial services will be on Thursday July 14th at 11am. Everyone is welcome to attend. For anyone else, the services will be streamed online at the Cloverdale Funeral Home website.  (Just click that, I linked it for you).

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, they are much appreciated and we definitely have felt them! Keep praying that we make it through the week!! :)

Waiting for the tsunami

I'm so sorry that I'm so far behind in commenting on everyone's blog posts! I do have a good excuse though. I've been trying to read all of them at least- but with limited internet sometimes I fall behind.

Right now I am in Boise. As I mentioned earlier, I had a last minute flight on Monday. That actually had to be changed Friday night- I had to fly down first thing Saturday morning. I flew from Calgary to Seattle, Seattle to Portland (weird, I know) and then Portland to Boise.

My sister described to me the way my 'mum' had been acting. She has refused food for months, but she still would eat at least once a day, but was refusing it completely in the last few days. She would sleep all day, and was not very coherent. When you asked her something, she would just mumble and you couldn't understand her. Her eyes were glossy and she seemed confused at times. She is literally half the size she was a month ago, I think she could fit into a size 6 dress, and she is very fragile. Friday afternoon they thought she would go in the night. Thankfully she didn't.

I got in Saturday afternoon and she was sitting up and fully alert! She even requested some of her favorite foods, even though she only can eat a few bites (which is significant improvement from the day before). Because she was eating a little, she seems to be having a lot more energy, but she has also started throwing up. I usually have to leave the room as she doesn't have much warning. She has had lots of visitors, including my dad and step mom on Father's Day. Today she said she slept really well last night, and even wanted to go to my sister's basketball game tonight. We keep telling her that she needs to see my grandma (her mother) but she refuses. She doesn't want to my grandma to see her like this. We keep pushing, but we will see how today goes.

We have been doing a lot of research on what happens when someone is dying. Since my mom right now seems as though she is getting better, I have assumed that she experiencing the "surge of energy" that is very common in people who are terminally ill, and very close to passing. This boost in energy is described as a spiritual energy that the body allows for the person to say their final goodbyes and spend quality time with loved ones before they pass. This surge of energy usually happens right before a person passes, usually within days. So with that being said, haha, I am just waiting... trying my absolute best to be patient and understanding. My younger sister could not be more in denial however, which is making it even more frustrating because she wont talk to anyone- and has a total disrespect for everything and everyone, and forgets that she isn't the only one losing their mom.

I read one person's experience of when they lost a loved one. They described it as standing on the ocean shore, knowing that there is a tsunami coming but you have no place to run. So I am just waiting for it to hit. I've been preparing myself for this for years. I knew this how she would go and I think what's more heartbreaking is watching my sisters and my grandma- I'm so worried for them. I know I will be okay, but I just worry for them. Everyone is experiencing this so differently and everyone is so emotional and pissy all the time (that may just be girl hormones). The next few days will be very difficult for all of us.

I just wanted to update you all on what was happening. Thanks for all the well wishes- it's greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! Love you mommy!

Jone's Soda bottle caps can predict the future

A wide range of emotions encompass you when you get a Thursday afternoon phone call from your family explaining that your trip in two weeks you have planned to come down to say goodbye to your mother, needs to be moved up. I now have a one way flight to Boise booked for Monday morning.

Can I just say how grateful I am for my awesome boss? I'm really happy I turned down another job offer yesterday... more of that to come later. I had a Jone's Soda yesterday, and it predicted this.

As for now, I am needing to prepare myself. BAH! I hate cancer. It can go stuff itself.

Photo shoot with China

Me and cats, are like oil and water. Foil and cavity fillings. Salt and open wounds. Chalkboards and... okay, you get the picture.
We've been thinking about getting a kitten for a while now, but obviously nothing has happened yet. Our friends/neighbors just got a little baby kitten a few days ago, and it's adorable, so we'll see what happens now that we are attached to someone else's pet.
Anywho, we watched Warren's dad's house a few days ago while he was out of town (in Banff, lucky guy). Warren's dad has two cats, Cosmo and China. Cosmo doesn't like me, and nor I him so the feeling is mutual. China on the other hand, likes everyone, and I have often times found myself allowing her to sleep on my lap. I was baking and making dinner when we were over there, and both Cosmo and China would not leave my side. Maybe it was the heat from the oven that they wanted, but either way it was super cute. So I grabbed my camera and decided to try to take some pictures of them. I've never been able to take decent pictures of these two nincompoops before- they always end up blurry. This time however, I think I did a pretty good job. So there ya have it.
And now you get to look at all the pictures I took... there aren't that many. Both China and I lost interest pretty quickly.
Uuuuuuuuuunfortunately, Cosmo will not be making his internet-blog debut today. I couldn't snap a good shot of him.
Okay, I lied. You can see Cosmo's ear in this picture. That's the best he would do. Mr. Grumpy-Gills is what he should be named.
After about 5 pictures, I decided I was done with filling up my camera with pictures of cats. Am I turning into an old cat lady?! Both me and the kitties went our separate ways for the rest of the night.

China however, must have liked getting her picture taken because as I went to crawl into bed, I found this on my pillow:
Closer...

Ugh. It was cute and all... but my pillow?! The place where I bury my head into at night... the place where I inhale and exhale very close to... the thing that I flip over about 8 times a night because I like the feeling of a cold pillow...

In other news... I am finally watching Eclipse tonight. Is it really as good as everyone says it is? Meh, I don't really care if it's any good, I'm really only watching it for two reasons:
Have you seen this video from the Oscars? I giggle like a school girl every time I see it. Hehehehe!

Bike Rides and Flooding

This post is way late. If only the days had 25 hours, I'd have enough time to everything I want to. Only in a perfect world however, do you wake up bright eyed and blueberry everyday and only in a perfect world can you stay awake past 7pm. Such is life.

Anyways, so Warren finally got his bike finished! He took it apart, re-painted it and updated all the parts. He did a great job. I could never do something like that. So here are some pictures from our first bike ride a couple weeks ago (I told you this post was late). We rode from our house to Warren's dads.
On our strenuous bike ride over... I had to stop and take some pictures of all the flooding that happened in Fish Creek Park. This river usually doesn't get too high... in fact, it's normally not a very swift river, and it's relatively small.
Don't worry, we totally rode through that puddle. It was awesome.
Cool shot of the city, EH?! (see what I did there there with 'eh'?)

After we finally made it over the river and through the woods- Warren's dad took us out to see his new Tom Cars. Ya ever heard of them before? Google them. Here are a couple of shots I got from within the trailer. Super excited to ride in these babies...
Sorry they aren't the greatest... like I said, I was in the trailer. I will most defs' get better pictures... one day. One day soon, I hope...
