Here's my story for today. We are planning a trip soon to the States, and a year ago (holy cow...) when I moved here, they gave me a nifty visitors visa so I could legally be here. My papers for permanent residency are submitted, but that can take anywhere from 3 months to 3 years or longer. I submitted a renewal for my visitors visa in June, 2 almost 3 months in advance. For the past 3 weeks or so, I've been on the phone for a good portion of my day(s) trying to speak to someone about what the protocol is for me leaving the country and getting back in with an expired visitors visa. Immigration people, are stupid. I know this might sound harsh, but would it kill them to hire someone who speaks English?! Second, cut the attitude, sir! From the sound of your accent, you certainly were not born in Canada, you know just how hard it is to immigrate to another country as well as I do, so stop being such a jerk!
I finally got my sugar coated answer from bouncy San Pedro down at the immigration office- it basically was a no go. I asked my father in law (he knows a lot) about what this guy said, and he said 'that was ridiculous'. So I journeyed again to call the Coutts/Sweetgrass border itself. The border in which I will go through. The guy laughed at me when I told him how retarded the immigration guy is for spouting off a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me about traveling with an expired visa (when it's not really expired because I paid my fee to renew it). Man, this story is turning out to be longer than I expected- well the border guy told me I can travel no problemo as long as I can prove that I live in Canada. Easy. Well on Saturday, my father in law calls to tell me that there is something in the mail from Immigration for me. I high tail it over there, thinking it's probably my papers being returned for doing them wrong. Not so! It was a 4 month extension for my visitors visa! They probably did it because they are sick of me calling every day to ask them another dumb question-- so now I can travel even more no problemo! Hopefully my renewed one will come within the next four months, or I'll be starting this process all over again. But we are thinking positive!
Look at the hail that landed on my balcony on Sunday. It was quite the storm.
It's not as cool looking in this picture. It was epic though, I assure you. And that's all I've got for now. Stay tuned!

Baha, I hate my life!
Can you see this? Do you know what this is? This is shredded coconut. The bag of which, fell on me from the top of my cupboard, spilling the whole way down. I now have coconut all over me, the counter, the floor and the inside of both shelves in my cupboard. GAH! (Oh, and I'm sticking my gut out so you can see the coconut all over me).
Erg!
Erg!

Daily funny!
So, I am doing some blog stuff- and I found this cool thing. If you go to draft.blogger.com and log in as usual, there is an application that is called Stats. It shows you all the stats for your blog (who visits, how often, etc...) it's pretty cool!
I was doing that for my own blog, and one of the stats shows you what people have Googled and thus, clicked on your blog from the search results. One of mine was "me and ben fairbanks"... Alrighty, so I wanna know who heck is THAT conceited to Google themselves with Ben Fairbanks, who is Warren's cousin. I have a pretty good guess -- all I have to say is, wow. [Note my sarcasm].
So now, you are no longer immune. I can see everything! Muuuahahaha, I kinda like this stats thing... ;)

Just babbling...
Normally I am against posts about your most current and random thoughts unless they are actually things of interest. I recently was blog stalking someone whom none of you know, I'm sure- and it was just her spouting off the most ridiculous, anticlimactic bits of information and long strains of 'lol's'- I really wanted to either shoot her or stick a fork in my eye. I'll try my best to not let that happen here. No I take that back, I guarantee I wont let that happen here.
First things first. Today is supposed to be a really nice day- so why am I not at the lake. I'll tell you why. Is it wrong to be upset that you didn't get invited for the last week? Well, I am. Not only that, I read on Facebook that this friend that I normally go with, has been inviting everyone else to go, and has been going this whole time. I didn't get a single phone call or anything. Am I selfish? I feel like I kind of am, but for reason I'm okay with it. I have been nothing but super nice to this person and I don't take up much space, I don't talk excessively or do anything to annoy said person- so why I am not getting invited?
Second, and this is probably the most important part of this post- my grandma is in the hospital. I hate getting those phone calls. I also hate being 900 miles and 15 hours away from her. She is my best friend. But as life would have it, people get older and ultimately, death is an essential part of our being. I don't like it. I don't like that that day is coming, each day getting closer and closer. I don't like knowing that she'll be gone one day. It almost doesn't seem fair that she would leave me here alone, when she knows I'm struggling even though I don't lead that on. I know it has to happen, but I haven't come to accept it yet. Obviously, I've never lost anyone close to me before. I'm probably making a bigger deal out this than it actually is. She isn't sick- though she has been diabetic for most of my life. She fell the other day while getting the mail. She broke her hip and her arm. So she is okay, just recovering- she also got a pink cast, just for me! After she is out of the hospital, she will have to go to a physical therapist to help her re-learn to walk with a new hip- but after that, she apparently will not be going back to her own place. Instead she will be going to an assisted living facility. My heart fell out my butt when I read that snip-it from my sister. It just makes it even more real, the end that is. I don't know how I'm going to handle it later on when the real phone call comes; If I can't even handle it now when she's fine and dandy.
On that happy note, we are planning a trip down to Utah soon. I'm pretty much excited. We also are going to swing up to Boise to see my family for a couple days. At first, we were thinking of taking a trip, like a real vacation since we haven't been on one before. I wanted Hawaii or Southern California, Warren wanted Chicago or New York- anything would have sufficed, really. We decided we would rather go someplace familiar, and see familiar faces and friends and spend time with those that matter most. What a coincidence, since the whole hospital incident. We want to go camping up at Bear Lake, and since Warren hasn't been there EVER, and I've only just gone for the day, I am asking all of you if you know anything about camping there? Where, how... the cost... etc. Anything would be great.
Sunday is our two year anniversary. It feels like it should be more like a 15 or 20 year anniversary. Is that normal? We are not very good at keeping secrets from each other. Especially when Warren asks "how much are the CriCuts at Micheal's?" and turns to me with a big grin on his face. It's not too hard to guess what he's getting me. I however, I try really hard to keep him in the dark. My only excuse for telling him what I was planning on getting him THIS TIME is because he had two things to choose from, and there is no way I trust myself enough to choose for him. Since year two's gift is supposed to be cotton, I had the most brilliant idea. Star Wars Bed Sheets. He will love it! Of course, the only two places I could find them at were Target and Potter Barn Kids. Both of which, don't exist in Calgary- neither of which will ship to Canada. What bogus. So I had to have him decide which ones he liked better, Pottery Barn of course being one thousand times the price of Target, but way cooler and had better reviews. So he picked Pottery Barn- but now he has to choose between the bed sheet set, or a duvet cover- both being the same price. We don't usually sleep in between sheets because we hate them, they are there only for decoration. So the duvet seems to be a more practical choice- plus then other people can see it and see that it is clearly Star Wars. I'd say I'm a pretty awesome wife, if I do say so myself. Now I just have to find a store that has this item. Stupid international-ness...
Sorry this is such a melancholy post. Sometimes you just gotta write stuff down, or I mean- type things up. Thanks for reading! Please comment if you have any information on camping at Bear Lake- also comment because you love me *winky face*.

I hate football season
Today is August 9th. If I were in Boise, I would still have 8 more weeks of actual summer weather. Not so here in Calgary. It has already started to cool off, and I am NOT happy about it. I've considered moving to Arizona or New Mexico, Warren says Utah is out of the question. I don't know what his beef is with Utah, but goodness I wish he'd get over it. Anywhere else is too humid, unless you want a dead Kelsey. I have started to freak out all of a sudden with the realization that winter is on the horizon. Winters here are absolutely miserable. I used to enjoy winter, I love bundling up in cute clothes and how pretty the snow is, but winter lasts from November to April 30th here. I can't handle it. I can't do it again. Last winter I was so isolated I forgot what the outside world even looked like. If feels like an elephant is standing on my chest. I hate football season; I hate that that's all anyone ever talks about and how it's on every single channel. I hate school season. I want it to be summer forever. I want to move away from this icy cold tundra of death.
The end.
The end.

Two things
Yesterday I had a really good day! First, I went and picked Saskatoon berries with the Relief Society. What the freak is a Saskatoon berry, you ask? Don't worry, I asked myself that too the whole time I was picking them. I haven't tried one yet... you'd think that would have been one of the first things I did, but no. From what I am told, they are similar to a blueberry, but taste like a strawberry. Hmm... well then. Here are some pictures from my berry picking!
Cutest little shops!
By about this point, two hours worth of picking, I was pretty much done with this activity.
These are Saskatoon berries.
Just wait till I make muffins with these babies!
The view coming back into town...
Second. Warren is into this game called Dungeons and Dragons, heard of it? It drives me nuts most of the time. Not so much the game, but his addiction to said game. Anyways, a few weeks ago he got me this girl 'miniature' to paint sometime. Last night was Dungeons and Dragons night with his friends, and I decided to tag along and paint my little figurine thing.
Before
After
She's not done yet. She doesn't have a name either. But her bird's name is Hedwig, like from Harry Potter, and her shoes have red soles, because they are Christian Louboutin. I've got some fine touches to do, but you get the idea. She also has brown hair with blonde highlights. I'd say it's pretty cool.
